It has been a busy spring TUG season for NuWave! We have been crisscrossing the country in order to meet with customers, chat with other NonStop vendors, and bring you the latest and greatest in HPE NonStop integration and middleware options!
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off our spring TUG run than with SCTUG in beautiful Santa Ana, California. With about 30 in attendance, we got a recap of everything we all accomplished last year and the full rundown on what we can expect this year.
Kristi Elizondo from Connect Worldwide caught us up to speed on what is going on with our friends at Connect, while Justin Simonds and Joel Sigman from HPE summed up all the excitement from the Technical Boot Camp last year in San Jose. Keith Moore from HPE also gave a great talk on middleware for the HPE hybrid cloud (which you know we found interesting!)
There were also great presentations from our friends at CSP, XYPRO and OmniPayments. After the event, everyone got to mingle and unwind at Lucile’s BBQ.
We would also like to extend some special congratulations to the winners of our Amazon Dots, Gaurav Bengal from Capgemini and Antonio Arizo of CR Laurence. We hope you enjoy your new toys!
DUST is another event that everyone looks forward to each year. Held at CVS/Caremark in Scottsdale, Arizona, the landscapes of the desert provide a beautiful backdrop for this aptly named gathering.
With about 36 people in attendance for this intimate event, it was great to meet with our friends and customers. Though some presenters suffered through some technical difficulties that almost ended up with a laptop on top of a trashcan, everyone finally got back on track so that we could hear great presentations. A standout was a customer presentation from Chris Draper of Wells Fargo talking about XYPRO security products and how they have helped their company.
We also had an opportunity to present, with Gabrielle and Vincent giving an interesting presentation on how to open up your NonStop using RESTful services, complete with an Amazon Echo demonstration that some of you may remember from Boot Camp. Did you know that you could integrate your NonStop with such modern technology? We can show you how!
It was also a great opportunity for us to connect with our friends at XYPRO and have dinner with partners and customers at Fogo de Chao the night before the conference. If you’re ever in Scottsdale, we can’t recommend this amazing Brazilian restaurant enough!
We were also happy to give away two Amazon Dots to Matt Allen from Tributary Systems and Ben Coan from Odyssey Systems. Congratulations!
Who doesn’t love SunTUG? It is a favorite for many people in the HPE NonStop community as it is often a welcome escape from winter and a great excuse to get down to sunny Tampa, Florida. SunTUG is a great opportunity for NuWave since it is one of the rare times we have so many of our team members present! In addition to Vincent and Gabrielle, we were also happy to be able to have our marketing coordinator Mandi Nulph on hand, as well as our founder and CRO Ernie Guerrera, as they both live in the Tampa area.
In addition to beautiful weather, SunTUG also provides a robust opportunity for vendors to present. Gabrielle and Vincent once again shared functionality of our LightWave ServerTM product using the Amazon Echo. We also heard a great keynote from Andy Bergholz, as well as presentations from many other vendors. As usual, it was also time to wish Pat Boland a very special birthday, and everyone enjoyed networking after the event. Congratulations to for winning our Amazon Dots!
We were also happy to golf with our friends at JPMC and Raymond James in the tournament the next day. The SunTUG golf tournament is a favorite activity, and we were happy to place well and have a great time with some of our NonStop friends during this beautiful Florida weekend.
We hope to see you at even more great events this summer! Contact David Ross at firstname.lastname@example.org if you will be attending and shows in Europe, and Vincent Guerrera at email@example.com if you will be attending any others. We would love to meet you and talk about what is going on in the NonStop space with you.
