There have been some great HPE NonStop shows in the last couple of months - here's NuWave's perspective on them.
The always excellent North Texas Tandem User Group (N2TUG) show was held on June 27th at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, TX. As usual, the event was extremely well-attended, showing the great state of NonStop usage in Texas. Meg Watson, a Master Engineer at the NonStop ATC, presented on DevOps, which was the theme for the conference. Justin Simonds from HPE presented on the history of artificial intelligence (AI). NuWave and TIC Software, who were celebrating their 15th anniversary as partners, co-presented on how HPE NonStop customers can gain a competitive advantage using NuWave LightWave solutions.

July saw us heading to Asia for a busy week of conferences and meetings in Korea and Taiwan. July 15th and 16 we were in Seoul, for the HPE NonStop Innovation Summit. Monday was partner day, which allowed us to spend some time with HPE and our partners in Korea, including ezTips, our new distributor in the region.

Tuesday's customer event, held at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul, was excellent. This was our second year at this event, and we are getting used to HPE and the local marketing team putting together a consistently great show.
HPE provided some excellent speakers, with Franz Koenig, Head of the HPE Worldwide Advanced Technology Center (ATC), starting off with an up date of HPE IT's internal usage of NonStop - great to see HPE finally making extensive use of their own NonStop gear! Gelin Cheng, from HPE Singapore, then gave an update on APAC business, with the great news that things are going very well in this part of the world. Franz then came back on to discuss modern NonStop architecture and methods, a really interesting view into some of the new things HPE have been working on.
We were also lucky enough to have Shinichiro Matsumoto presenting at both the Korea and Taiwan events. Matsumoto-san, from KDDI, gave an extremely informative presentation on how HPE NonStop compares to Linux and Oracle when it comes to Java applications. NuWave's Andrew Price presented on REST-enabling NonStop applications, including NET24 which is widely used in Korea, and then Young-Jin Cho from ezTips presented on their middleware solutions, and how LightWave can help to open them up to new REST-based business models. During the breaks, Andrew and Young-Jin talked with customers and demonstrated LightWave products for them.

Thursday July 18th saw us doing it all over again in Taipei, Taiwan, with a partner day at the HPE Taiwan offices. Here we spent time with all the local partners, including Syscom, NuWave's distributor in Taiwan. Once again, an excellent day with HPE and local partners. Friday was the customer event, this time held at the spectactular Grand Mayfull Hotel in Taipei. We saw similar presentations from the HPE folks, and once again Andrew presented on REST-enabling NonStop applications, to a full room.
